Toyo is a writer as well as a culinary enthusiast, so when she is not filling up plates she is filling up pages. Toyo was awarded Food Writer of the Year at the Fortnum and Mason Food and Drink Awards (2025) and The Guild of Food Writers Awards (2025). 

Toyo's food, culture, art and travel writing includes contributions to Condé Nast Traveller, BBC, National Geographic, Vittles and Potluck. She regularly publishes restaurant food and hospitality content with original photography and video content on Instagram (@toyotastes).
